Green Flags: Signs You're Buying From a Trustworthy Source

They tell you where the antlers come from. Reputable sellers are transparent about sourcing. Look for brands that specify the region their antlers are gathered from and confirm that antlers are naturally shed — not harvested from farmed or culled animals. Vague language like "responsibly sourced" without any detail is worth questioning.

They clearly state the grade. Antler quality is graded, and Grade A is what you want. A trustworthy seller will clearly label their product as Grade A and explain what that means — density, marrow content, absence of weathering or damage. If grading isn't mentioned at all, assume it isn't premium.

They offer sizing guidance. A seller who understands their product will help you choose the right size for your dog. Look for clear size breakdowns by weight or breed, and ideally some guidance on chewing style. If a listing just says "large antler" with no further detail, that's a gap in customer care.

Reviews mention longevity and dog satisfaction. Genuine reviews from real customers are one of your best tools. Look for patterns — dogs that stayed engaged, chews that lasted weeks or months, owners who repurchased. A handful of generic five-star reviews with no detail is less reassuring than a mix of honest, specific feedback.

They stand behind the product. Brands confident in their quality will offer some form of satisfaction guarantee or customer support. If a seller has no return policy and no way to contact them, that tells you something.

Red Flags: Signs to Scroll Past

No mention of how the antlers were sourced. If a listing can't tell you whether antlers are naturally shed or where they came from, there's a reason for that silence. Ethical sourcing is a selling point — sellers who have it, say so.

Unusually low prices. Quality antlers take time to gather, grade, and process properly. If a price seems too good to be true, the product has likely been cut somewhere — lower grade material, poor cleaning standards, or antlers sourced from unverified suppliers.
